Supply Quantity popsicle sticks 9
fun foam 1 piece
craft glue
puffy shapes
Step By Step Instructions
1. Choose 9 popsicle sticks or measure your light switch cover to see how many are necessary.
2. Cut a piece of fun foam to fit your light switch area. Make it not too much longer than the length of a popsicle stick and as wide as the number of popsicle sticks you are using (see Step # 1).
3. Before gluing the popsicle sticks together cut out part of the middle popsicle stick where your light switch will fit through. To be on the safe side place one popsicle stick up next to your light switch and mark off where you need to cut for it to fit. You can cut the popsicle stick with sharp scissors or a utility knife but hold onto your popsicle stick firmly to ensure a straight, neat cut (this part should be done with the help of an adult).
4. Glue popsicle sticks to cut piece of fun foam. The popsicle sticks should be snug when glued together. Using your utility knife cut out the matching piece of fun foam (for the light switch) as you did for your popsicle stick.
5. Let dry completely for 1 to 2 hours.
6. While your switch cover is drying choose your materials and create the design for your switch plate. Use your imagination to create a switch plate with a theme in mind to match your room or with favourite images (i.e. flowers, fish, bees, balloons, etc.).
7. When your light switch cover is completely dry, add tape to the back of the popsicle sticks and press it to the existing switch plate cover.
This craft is NOT meant to replace the switch plate cover, only decorate it.

Fun Foam Door Hanger
Toolssmall plastic dish
paint brush
Supply Quantity
pink fun foam door hanger 1
yellow fun foam letters spell name purple fun foam animals 2
metallic confetti 3
craft glue newspapers
paper towel
Description
This door hanger is a quick and simple project for kids to make and decorate the door of their room. Choosing the colors, animals and decorations they would like to use for this project makes it all their own. Younger children may need a little help from an older person to spell their names and arrange the pieces on their door hanger.
Step By Step Instructions
1. Cover your work surface with newspaper to catch any spills of glue.
2. Pour a small amount of glue into a small plastic dish you can throw away when you are done this project.
3. Lay your fun foam door hanger on your work surface.
4. Arrange the individual decorations on the door hanger until you are satisfied with the appearance.
5. Lift each piece one at a time, spread a little bit of glue on the back and press it back into its original place. If you use too much glue it will squeeze out past the edges of your decoration. If some does squeeze out, wipe it up carefully with one hand while holding the decoration in place with the other so it doesn't move while you are wiping up the glue.
6. When all the decorations are in place, leave your door hanger to dry 5 to 10 minutes before hanging it on your doorknob. If you see the decorations start to slide a little when you lift it up, the glue still isn't dry and you need to leave it lying flat for a little while longer

Recycled Berry Gift Basket
Toolsscissors
Supply Quantity Size
green plastic berry basket 1
pink nylotex ribbon 1 piece 27" long
white nylotex ribbon 1 piece 27" long
yellow nylotex ribbon 1 piece 27" long
yellow pipe cleaners 2
royal blue flowers 12 medium
Description
Kids can make their own gift basket to fill with soaps, candies, and etc. for someone special. This basket allows you to recycle and create something new at the same time. You could also use various widths of satin ribbon to weave through the basket.
Step By Step Instructions
1. Cut a 27" piece of the yellow nylotex ribbon. Starting at one corner, weave it through the basket and when the ends meet again at the corner, tie a bow. Push the ribbon down so it is flush with the bottom of the basket.
2. Cut a 27" piece of the white nylotex ribbon. Starting at the corner on the other side of the basket, weave it through the basket and when the ends meet again at the corner, tie a bow. Push the ribbon down so it is flush with the bottom of the first piece of ribbon. You can also pull the top part of the ribbon up so it fills the remaining portion of that section of the basket.
3. Cut a 27" piece of the pink nylotex ribbon. Starting in the middle on the same side of the basket where there are bows at the corners, weave it through the basket and when the ends meet again in the middle, tie a bow. Push the ribbon down so it is flush with the bottom of the second piece of ribbon. You should also pull the top part of the ribbon up so it fills the entire portion of that section of the basket.
4. Now it is time to make the handles for the basket. Insert the end of one of the pipe cleaners through a large slat in the basket, closest to the corner of the basket. Wrap 1" of the end of the pipe cleaner back around the pipe cleaner, twisting the end once or twice and tucking the end down so it won't scratch anyone. Repeat this process to make the handle on the other side of the basket.
5. Cut 12 medium flowers from the bunch with a fair bit of stem left below the bloom. Insert one flower behind the pink ribbon on one side of the basket, not at the corner but the first section in. Make sure the end of the stem comes out the bottom of the ribbon so the flower is nestled tightly above the ribbon. Alternate a flower every second section all the way around the basket. Now your basket is ready to fill with goodies for someone special.
